YOUR PRINTER CAN DO MORE THAN YOU THINK

What is a block poster?

A block poster is one large image printed across a grid of ordinary sheets. Trim and join the pages to make wall art, a classroom display, an event sign, or a craft pattern without a wide-format printer. PosterSheet handles the tiling and gives you one PDF in reading order.

Your chosen paper, margins, and overlap determine the finished size. A 3 × 2 grid of portrait A4 sheets with 7 mm margins and 10 mm overlap makes a 56.8 × 55.6 cm poster canvas. The whole image fits inside that canvas, with white space when the proportions differ.

BEFORE YOU HIT PRINT

A few good questions.

Is PosterSheet really free?+

Yes. This tool has no account requirement, payment gate, watermarks, or popups. You can export your poster and assembly guide directly from your browser.

Does my image get uploaded?+

No. Your selected image is decoded and processed locally in your browser. PDF generation also happens on your device. Closing or reloading this page clears the selected image.

Can I print a poster on my regular printer?+

Yes. Choose the paper actually loaded in your printer, download the PDF, and print single-sided at Actual Size or 100%. Do not choose Fit to page: it changes the size of every tile.

Will splitting my photo make it blurry?+

The tool preserves the decoded image pixel dimensions and does not downsample for PDF export. Enlarging a small photo still spreads those pixels over a bigger area. The live DPI estimate helps you judge sharpness; we do not add detail or upscale your photo.

Why are some pages partly white?+

The complete image is fitted without cropping or stretching. A grid with different proportions leaves white space. In automatic size mode, the last row or column can also be only partly filled. Inspect the preview before printing.

How do I join the pages?+

Lay them out in numbered order, left to right and then top to bottom. Trim the white printer margins. Align the repeated image strips using the overlap, and tape the back. The optional final PDF page shows the full assembly map.

Your image stays with you.
